Overview

Our forklift training covers types of forklifts, legislation (Work Health and Safety regulations), pre-operation inspections, safe driving practices, load handling, stability, forklift attachments, workplace hazards, emergency procedures, and operator responsibilities to ensure safe and efficient operation.


Learning Objectives

The objectives of this course are to learn and develop necessary skills in the following: - Learn and comply with NSW Work Health and Safety (WHS) regulations regarding forklift operation, including employer and employee responsibilities. - Perform thorough daily inspections of the forklift to identify mechanical issues, ensuring the machine is safe to operate. - Master the controls and maneuverability of forklifts, including safe practices for driving, lifting, and moving loads within various workplace environments. - Recognise common workplace hazards, such as pedestrian traffic, uneven surfaces, and environmental conditions, and apply strategies to minimise risks. - Safely handle loads by understanding principles of load balancing, the forklift's stability triangle, and the proper use of attachments.

There are no pre-requisite units of competency applicable to the training product


Course Details

Delivery Mode
  • Face-to-face training (2 days)
  • Practical hands-on training using industry-standard forklifts
  • Simulated workplace environment
  • Mandatory pre-learning (online or self-paced)
  • Final assessment conducted by an external SafeWork NSW accredited assessor




Qualification Issued
Student who are deemed competent will received a statement of attainment in the following unit of competency: TLILIC0003 - Licence to operate a forklift truck This certification is nationally recognised under the Australian Qualifications Framework. The statement of attainment is issued by Certified Training Resources Australia (CTRA) - RTO no. 45826

Licensing Information:
Students must then apply for a High Risk Work Licence through SafeWork NSW.

CTRA does not issue the licence. Students are responsible for completing the licensing process with the relevant authority.



Certificate Validity
Recommended refresher within 5years from the date issued


Assessment Methods
Assessment includes:
- Written knowledge assessment
- Practical demonstration of forklift operation
- Observation by a qualified assessor

Assessment Conditions:
- Conducted in a simulated workplace environment
- Using industry-standard forklifts and equipment

Reassessment:
- Students will be provided with opportunities for reassessment if required.

Licensing Assessment:
- The High Risk Work Licence assessment is conducted by a SafeWork NSW accredited assessor.
- CTRA delivers the training and prepares students for assessment but does not issue the licence.
- Students must successfully complete the SafeWork NSW assessment and apply for their licence through the relevant authority.

Student Resource Requirements
Students must bring:
- Steel cap safety boots
- Long pants and long sleeve shirt
- Any required PPE

All training equipment and materials will be provided by the RTO.

Course Duration and Structure
Day 1-2:
- Training and assessment preparation (RTO-delivered)

Day 3:
- High Risk Work Licence assessment conducted by a SafeWork NSW accredited assessor

Pre-learning:
- 4-6 hours (mandatory, completed prior to attendance)

Entry Requirements into the Course:

While there are no specific entry requirements for this training product, CTR Australia has requirements that must be met by all students to enter into this course.

To enrol in this course, students must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess basic English language, literacy, and numeracy (LLN) skills
  • Be physically capable of operating industrial equipment
  • Have adequate vision and hearing to operate machinery safely
  • Wear appropriate PPE (steel cap boots, high-visibility clothing, long pants)
  • Ability to complete SafeWork licensing assessment requirements

Payment and Refund

Payment

  • Fee Administration: CTR Australia adheres to fair and reasonable fee administration practices, charging fees only for accredited training as per the published fee information. Accurate records of course fee payments, waivers, exemptions, or refunds will be maintained for each student.
  • Fee Payment Arrangements: Students are required to pay fees in full before the commencement of training. Failure to pay fees may result in the suspension of learning or assessments until all fee payments are up to date.
  • Outstanding Student Fees: Non-payment of fees may lead to the suspension of training until payment is finalized. In such cases, CTR Australia reserves the right to charge a recommencement fee for suspended training and will withhold the issuance of Statements of Attainment until all outstanding fees are settled.

Refunds

  • Accessibility: CTR Australia’s refund policy is publicly available to all stakeholders, including prospective and existing students and employers. Students will be made aware of the refund policy before enrolment to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Refund Request Process: Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to training@ctra.com.au. CTR Australia evaluates requests based on the provided information and may consider exemptions for mitigating circumstances with supporting evidence.
  • Refund Period: Refund requests must be lodged within 7 calendar days of the enrolment application date to be considered for processing.
  • Refund Calculation: Refunds are subject to a non-refundable administration fee of 25% of the full course fee payable (non-discounted). Refunds are granted for withdrawals within the refund period, subject to administrative deductions.
  • Refund Processing: CTR Australia processes refund requests within 1 week of receipt and reimburses approved refunds within 4 weeks. Refunds are paid to the original fee payer.
  • Non-Refundable Scenarios: Refunds will not be issued for commenced courses, changes to work hours, relocation, or incomplete qualifications after assessment. However, consideration for refunds may be provided at the discretion of the CEO/Administration Manager.
  • Course Cancellation: In the event of course cancellation by CTR Australia, full refunds will be provided, and alternative options for attendance will be offered where possible.
  • Continuous Improvement: CTR Australia’s Administration Manager ensures compliance with the policy and implements continuous improvement processes to enhance fee administration and refund procedures.
