Maja Ristevski

Maja is a human resources specialist with a wealth of knowledge in recruitment, workforce succession planning, training, safety and return to work management across various industries. She has worked with some of the biggest players in the business world, including waste management, industrial services, civil infrastructure, defence, engineering, heavy manufacturing, aviation, transport, and logistics companies. Her ability to understand and navigate the recruitment, training, workforce succession planning and management cycle has been instrumental in helping companies source and retain top talent.

Her dedication and strategic mindset propelled her to the position of General Manager at one of Australia’s largest privately owned recruitment companies when she was just 29 years old. Having worked successfully in executive and board positions for a very long time she has proven that she has the necessary leadership qualities to succeed in today’s dynamic business environment. 

Her strategic and critical thinking skills, clear communication, and ability to manage change make her a valuable asset to CTRA. Will Purdon

William is an experienced Chief Financial Officer with an impressive educational background, holding a Bachelor of Commerce, an MBA, and a Certified Practicing Accountant (CPA). With his extensive expertise in finance and accounting, William has successfully led finance teams and set up business infrastructure across a variety of industries, including waste management, recycling, transport and logistics, and environmental companies.

Throughout his career, William has demonstrated a keen ability to drive financial performance and deliver results through strategic planning, financial analysis, and effective leadership. He has a strong track record of optimizing financial systems, streamlining processes, and implementing cost-saving measures, all while maintaining high standards of corporate governance and regulatory compliance. William’s commitment to excellence and his ability to adapt to changing market conditions have made him a valuable asset to CTRA.

Diego Souza

A highly skilled trainer with extensive experience in the civil infrastructure industry. With a focus on underground asset refurbishment, maintenance and management, Diego is an expert in working in confined spaces and dangerous environments. His work in wastewater tunnels, where the atmosphere is filled with dangerous gases like H2S, carbon dioxide, and sometimes flammable gases has given him invaluable, first-hand experience in managing high-risk situations.

Diego’s expertise in high-risk training extends beyond confined space work and rescue. He is also skilled in creating isolation procedures and participating in site evacuation exercises. 

His training methods are based on real-life examples that he has encountered during his career, making his instruction both practical and effective. Diego’s innate ability to teach students how to respond quickly and safely in case of an incident has earned him a reputation as a highly skilled, knowledgeable, and effective high-risk trainer.

Diego’s commitment to safety and his ability to communicate the importance of following proper procedures ensures that CTRA students understand how to work safely in dangerous environments, prevent incidents and injuries, and a range of other lifesaving skills. Diego’s students can trust that they are receiving the highest quality training available.

My favourite part was putting the harness on, using breathing apparatus, and self-rescuing out of the confined space which was very tricky. Very interesting training!

Hands-on training in simulated work environments

At CTRA, our approach to training is hands-on and immersive. Our simulated work sites enable students to experience real scenarios in a controlled environment. All of our training packages and equipment are custom-engineered, purpose-built, and certified to the highest possible standards, so students receive the most relevant, effective training possible. 

By simulating real working environments, students are fully immersed in the training experience. Simulated sounds, temperatures, light, smells, and heights add to the realism of our training.

Students fill out risk assessment forms and SWMS, conduct gas testing, learn CPR, and rescue our trusty training dummy, Darryl, from a whole host of unsafe scenarios. This approach makes the training more memorable and a lot more fun. As a result, our students are fully prepared to work safely from the moment they step foot on-site.
