Overview

This course is designed to refresh the students with the knowledge and skills, necessary to safely perform confined space rescue, supervise and work in confined spaces. Our expert trainers will guide you through the various hazards associated with confined spaces, how to effectively manage them, the role and responsibilities of a Confined Space Standby Person and how to deploy and perform effective and safe confined space rescue.

Learning Objectives

The objectives of this course are to learn and develop necessary skills in the following: - What constitutes a confined space? - Learn about legislation and regulation requirements, when working in confines spaces (Confined Space Code of Practice). - The required equipment and setup to safely work in confined spaces. - Skills to identify the hazards, associated risk and control measures, required for safe confined space entry. - The ability to read, understand, work with and issue permits. - Standby procedures, including the issue and implementation of entry permits, gas testing, and the role and responsibilities of the Confined Space Standby Person. - Develop the skills to respond to fires and the use of firefighting equipment. - All skills necessary to undertake confined space rescue, operate breathing apparatus and provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation. - Comprehensive knowledge to safely enter and work, perform standby duties and confined space rescue in confined spaces.

Prerequisites

This course is designed for participants who have previously completed Confined Space Training.

Participants must:

Hold the relevant units of competency for the confined space activities being refreshed.
Provide a copy of their previous Statement of Attainment or other acceptable evidence of competency prior to enrolment or course commencement.
Have previously completed training relevant to the Confined Space Entry, Standby and/or Rescue competencies included in this refresher course.

Face-to-face (1 day). Pre-learning completed online prior to attendance.

Qualification Issued

This course is designed to refresh and verify existing skills for participants who already hold relevant units of competency.

No full qualification is issued. Where sufficient evidence and a valid assessment are completed, a Statement of Attainment may be issued only for units the participant already holds. Otherwise, a Verification of Competency (VOC) will be provided.

Certificate Validity

Recommended refresher within 12 months from the date issued

Assessment Methods

Written knowledge test, practical demonstration, and assessor observation

Entry Requirements into the Course:

While there are no specific entry requirements for this training product, CTR Australia has requirements that must be met by all students to enter into this course.

At the time of enrolment students must:

Be at least 18 years of age
Previously completed Confined Space Entry training
Basic LLN skills
Physically capable of demonstrating safe entry procedures
Wear appropriate PPE

Payment and Refund

Payment

Fee Administration: CTR Australia adheres to fair and reasonable fee administration practices, charging fees only for accredited training as per the published fee information. Accurate records of course fee payments, waivers, exemptions, or refunds will be maintained for each student.
Fee Payment Arrangements: Students are required to pay fees in full before the commencement of training. Failure to pay fees may result in the suspension of learning or assessments until all fee payments are up to date.
Outstanding Student Fees: Non-payment of fees may lead to the suspension of training until payment is finalized. In such cases, CTR Australia reserves the right to charge a recommencement fee for suspended training and will withhold the issuance of Statements of Attainment until all outstanding fees are settled.

Refunds

Accessibility: CTR Australia’s refund policy is publicly available to all stakeholders, including prospective and existing students and employers. Students will be made aware of the refund policy before enrolment to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
Refund Request Process: Refund requests must be submitted in writing via email to training@ctra.com.au. CTR Australia evaluates requests based on the provided information and may consider exemptions for mitigating circumstances with supporting evidence.
Refund Period: Refund requests must be lodged within 7 calendar days of the enrolment application date to be considered for processing.
Refund Calculation: Refunds are subject to a non-refundable administration fee of 25% of the full course fee payable (non-discounted). Refunds are granted for withdrawals within the refund period, subject to administrative deductions.
Refund Processing: CTR Australia processes refund requests within 1 week of receipt and reimburses approved refunds within 4 weeks. Refunds are paid to the original fee payer.
Non-Refundable Scenarios: Refunds will not be issued for commenced courses, changes to work hours, relocation, or incomplete qualifications after assessment. However, consideration for refunds may be provided at the discretion of the CEO/Administration Manager.
Course Cancellation: In the event of course cancellation by CTR Australia, full refunds will be provided, and alternative options for attendance will be offered where possible.
Continuous Improvement: CTR Australia’s Administration Manager ensures compliance with the policy and implements continuous improvement processes to enhance fee administration and refund procedures.
