Overview

This course is designed to equip the students with the knowledge and skills, necessary to provide CPR - Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and correct use and operation of BA - Breathing Apparatus. Providing CPR competently is a life-saving technique used in an emergency to revive a person who has suffered cardiac arrest or stopped breathing. Breathing apparatus is typically used by people that are at risk to be exposed to hazardous atmospheric air, toxic gases, or a lack of oxygen, which can cause health issues or endanger their lives. Both skills, CPR and Breathing apparatus go hand in hand, when responding to emergencies on industrial sites or working in a high-risk environment. Our expert trainers will guide you through the resuscitation techniques that involves, chest compressions and rescue breaths, to circulate oxygenated blood to the brain and other vital organs. Also, half of the training time will be spent on learning the correct techniques on how to use, wear and maintain breathing apparatus.

Learning Objectives

The objectives of this course are to learn and develop necessary skills in the following:

- Recognize the emergency - the first step in providing CPR is to recognize the emergency and call for help immediately. Time is critical in a cardiac arrest, and early intervention can make a significant difference in the outcome.

- Live-saving techniques on how to correctly position the person, check for breathing, chest compressions and rescue breaths.

- Repeat - understand the requirements of performing CPR until medical help arrives or the person starts breathing normally.

- Ability to identify the environments and circumstances, where breathing apparatus are required.

- Thorough understanding of the guidelines, processes, and requirement on how to use breathing apparatus safely and correctly.

- Life-saving skill to calculate the consumption rate - amount of oxygen in the bottle, full and a working duration, and a safety margin.

- Proper and safe maintenance, refill, and storage of breathing apparatus.
